Just a day before Bangladesh’s declaration of independence, Pakistan Army launched “Operation Searchlight” on 25th March night - a planned military pacification - which ended up in mass killings of civilians.
The atrocities continued throughout the next months. In December, Pakistan Army started targeted killings of educators, engineers, doctors, writers, journalists, artists, painters, and other intellectuals - in an effort to cripple the future generation.
